Recently Sold: Metalworking & Machining Equipment
Metalworking and machining auctions are one the fastest growing auction categories on our platform. In fact, in June alone, assets previously owned by manufacturers such as Excel Mold & Engineering, Dominion Plastics LLC and MetalTek were auctioned off on our platform; lots included mills, CNC lathes, EDM, machining centers and presses.
With more activity in our metalworking category, it comes as no surprise that used metalworking and machining equipment were the highest bids in June.
At a $100,000 high bid, this Makino CNC VMC sold at the highest amount across all three of June’s metalworking and manufacturing equipment auctions.
In most cases, milling machines and machining centers are synonymous terms for the same machine. This lot – a Trak CNC VMC – sold for $27,000.
VMCs remain a staple at most machine shops, large or small. In fact, they account for all three of the top equipment sales this month. The high bid for this Fadal VMC’s was $26,500.
Upcoming Metalworking & Machining Auction
On July 27, Spartan Industries will auction metalworking and machining equipment – such as arbors, lathe tooling & mills – in an online industrial auction on Aucto. Below are three featured items.
A face mill is a cutter designed for facing as opposed to creating a pocket. The cutting edges of face mills are always located along its sides. As such it must always cut in a horizontal direction at a given depth coming from outside the stock.
Multiple teeth distribute the chip load, and since the teeth are normally disposable carbide inserts, this combination allows for very large and efficient face milling.
Arbors, or mandrells, are used for a variety of industrial composite fabrication applications.
With more than 200,000 unique items and growing, Aucto gives buyers access to a massive equipment selection at liquidation prices. Our sellers offer a complete range of new and used metalworking, metal fabricating and tool room equipment.
Lots can be navigated by specific types of machinery such as CNC lathes, milling machines, as well as drill or hydraulic presses.
